Get a DC Real Estate License by Reciprocity - when licensed in Virginia This information may also apply to all out of state licensees. Virginia and Maryland licensees - Apply for DC license by reciprocity. Licensed in a state other than VA or MD?  Apply for DC license by endorsement application. The steps are the same. Here is the Washington DC Real Estate Commission Website. This site has the Candidate Handbook which contains license Instructions. Search on that pdf for license by reciprocity. Steps to get your DC real estate license by reciprocity:

1.  You need to get your license certification from the state(s) where you are licensed.

For Virginia certification of license , use the DPOR certification request form. ($35)

If you are going to get both DC and MD near the same time, get a 2nd one for $5 more. If you are licensed in another state, request a certification from you state (see erealtycourses.com for a list of state boards). 2.  Take the required 3 hour DC Fair Housing course and consider the other two 3 hour DC courses.  The Fair Housing course is required to apply for the DC license.  But you need exam prep, so we suggest the discounted 9 hour package course that includes the required Fair Housing course. The other two courses are DC specific and good for DC exam prep. Sign up for ONLY the 3 hour Fair Housing course. OR (recommended) … Get the 9 hour package course that includes the required Fair Housing course and all DC specific subjects. NOTE:  These courses are mandatory for continuing ed, but fufill the requirements for reciprocity and great for exam prep.)   3.  Create a profile on the Pearson Vue website and fill out the Client Waiver Request Form. 4.  Pearson VUE will then get back to you so you can schedule your DC portion of the license exam. ------------------- NOTE:  If you are NOT lcensed in Virginia or another state and wish to get a DC license, you will need to take the DC license course.
